There’s a common misconception that you don’t need insurance for kittens like you do for older cats. This could not be further from the truth and getting your kitten insured as early as possible can help you financially if illness or injury does occur.

    Common conditions

    As long as there were no symptoms or signs before the start of the policy, your policy will cover a wide range of common conditions, including:

    • Dental illness and injury (excluding routine check-ups, elective treatments, crowns and root canal procedures).
    • Diabetes.
    • Hyperthyroidism.

    Hereditary and congenital conditions

    These can be difficult to spot at birth and expensive to treat.

What's not covered

  • Cover for pre-existing conditions that started before your policy

    Conditions that began or showed symptoms before your policy started are considered pre-existing. Conditions that arise after your policy exclusion period ends are covered as long as the policy remains active.

  • The cost of routine pet care, such as vaccinations and check-ups

    But, if you choose our most extensive cover, we’ll give you
a £25 voucher every year to help with the cost.

How much does kitten insurance cost?

The average price for kitten insurance from Agria is £24 per month. This is based on all policies sold in 2023. It’s worth bearing in mind that Agria policies are Lifetime Policies which are generally more expensive than as they offer a higher level of cover.
