Financial Crime Officer
Helen Moore
Meet Helen Moore, our Financial Crime Officer
In 2014 I joined Agria after having spent 25+ years working in the Financial Industry.
In those 25+ years, I was managing many departments across the Pensions and Life Assurance Industry. Then moved across to Banking to manage teams investigating various fraud lines.
Moving to Agria
After facing a life-changing experience, I wanted a change of direction and focus. I was offered the opportunity to join a “family feel” company and become the Claims Team leader here at Agria.
Although I had transferable skills and experience in managing many departments I was apprehensive as I knew absolutely nothing about Pet Insurance. However, I was made to feel very welcome and, supported by the Claims Team and the Company. was able to develop my knowledge and skills.
Career catapults
In 2015, after some managerial changes, I moved back into management, becoming the Claims Manager. In the latter part of 2015, due to unexpected circumstances, I found myself catapulted into becoming the Head of Claims temporarily. This was a very exciting and challenging time, as we were building and introducing the new systems (PAWS).
In 2017, I reminded myself of why I had moved to Agria and decided to stand down from the Head of Claims role and continue to focus solely on the Claims Manager role.
Finding my passion at Agria
One of my passions and the area I have always gravitated towards is Fraud Investigation. Due to my experience in this area, I continued to investigate cases alongside all my other roles.
For the last 8 years, my cases have been used and I have been involved with the BBC1 Claimed and Shamed programmes. In 2019 it became apparent that the Company could utilise and support a full-time Fraud Investigation role. Again, the time seemed right for me to apply and fortunately, I was successful. The role has evolved rapidly and in 2023 my role changed to become the Financial Crime Officer for Agria.
Life changing experiences and support
When I joined Agria I had just been widowed. I found out that some members of the Company were going cycling around France as part of a charity ride, so I asked if I could join them.
This led to 3 years of team cycling charity challenges around France. I also cycled up 3 mountains with colleagues and took part in multiple triathlons and half ironman triathlons. I could not, and would not, have done any of this without the fabulous support of Agria and the people working here. The teamwork and inclusion are amazing.
In 2018 I was diagnosed with cancer, Agria was amazing and the support I have been given is immense. Knowing you have colleagues and employer's support makes the diagnoses and treatment that much easier to face.
Travel and new opportunities
I have been so lucky to attend The Houses of Parliament and travel to Sweden and Denmark for meetings. I have attended numerous work/social events at various amazing places, some local and some nationwide!
Throughout my years here I have been continually supported. I have been given so many opportunities to develop, and at 50 plus I am now studying for my diploma in Financial Crime, supported by Agria. So remember you are never too old to start, do or learn new things, especially here at Agria.
