Business Transformation Manager
Christina Wood
Meet Christina Wood, our Business Transformation Manager
In April 2017 I made the bold move to leave my role as an Operations Team Leader with a Finance Company with no other job lined up (eeeek)… I knew I needed a new challenge and wanted to find a company that shared my values and thrived to support it's people as well as its customers and that’s when I found Agria.
I joined Agria in June 2017 as a Customer Service Team Leader.
I very quickly learned that Agria wasn’t just a ‘pet insurance company’ every single person who worked at Agria had a passion for animals, it wasn’t just an insurance company who wanted to make money. It was so much more!
Getting started with Agria
Well…. where do I start with my journey, after embracing the role as a Customer Service team leader, I was promoted to Contact Centre project Lead in January 2019.
This was so new for me and nothing I had ever done before but it was exactly the opportunity I wanted. This role allowed me to focus on working with the Contact Centre to make some positive changes for them and our customers. It meant spending time developing my knowledge and experience that not only benefit the business but also me with my own personal career goals (one day becoming an MD – it’s a work in progress).
In October 2020 this role developed to Contact Centre Project Manager and boy did I know it, I worked on one of the biggest projects the Contact Centre had seen for a while. This was such a huge opportunity, and I couldn’t have been happier to be a huge part of that journey.
Taking on new challenges
Well, it didn’t stop there, after working on some great projects the business decided we wanted to do more and take on a project to be the first insurer in the UK to offer Equine lifetime insurance – hey I wanted a challenge when I joined, and this project was just that! I took on the role of Equine Project Manager in October 2021. Again, this was such a brilliant opportunity, I had spent the last few years, working with the wider teams of the business, who provided me with so much knowledge and support, I now got the opportunity to work with our colleagues in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway.
Following such a brilliant launch of the Equine project I was promoted to Business Programme Manager, this was yet another incredible opportunity for me to develop. I had the opportunity to work with the Senior Managers and the wider business to drive the strategic plan (taking me one step closer to that MD role). I soon moved from the Programme Manager role to Business Transformation Manager.
This is a testament to the opportunities I have had to work with incredible leaders, develop skills and be a part of a thriving business that invests in its people.
So, why work at Agria?
I often get asked, ‘Why Agria?’. Agria has a culture that genuinely loves what they do, they are a family that cares for their staff as much as their customers and takes care of pets. I am surrounded by passionate and talented people who have coached, trained and mentored me throughout my journey. If you are committed to being passionate and working hard the question is actually ‘Why not Agria?’
