Agria becomes lead centenary corporate partner for World Horse Welfare

Agria is supporting World Horse Welfare between now and 2027 as the charity approaches its centenary, in which it will celebrate 100 years of improving equine welfare in the UK and internationally.
Having previously supported the World Horse Welfare conference in November 2024, Agria’s support will now extend to helping World Horse Welfare’s UK rescuing and rehabilitation work, through its four regional centres and 16 highly experienced Field Officers; its work with horse sport to improve welfare and thus strengthen sports’ ‘social licence’; and activities around the centenary celebrations in 2026 and 2027.
Agria’s support provides a significant boost in helping to protect the future of equine welfare and ensure the responsible and ethical involvement of horses in sport for generations to come.
In addition, Agria will have a key involvement in World Horse Welfare events and campaigns throughout the partnership, and its employees will play a hands-on role too, volunteering at World Horse Welfare’s farms.
World Horse Welfare Chief Executive Roly Owers says: “As we enter the three-year run up to our centenary celebrations in 2027, we are delighted to welcome Agria as our Lead Centenary Corporate Partner. Agria’s support will make such a difference to our work, from rescuing and rehabilitating horses in the UK, to our work promoting the responsible involvement of horses across all levels of sport. We are united in our desire to see a future where all horses are treated with respect, compassion and understanding.”
Vicki Wentworth, CEO of Agria UK, adds: “Agria’s ethos has always been to help horses — and their owners — live their healthiest, happiest, most active and enjoyable lives — and we cannot overstate how much welfare matters to us.
“We care deeply about listening to our horses and sharing the accountability for their wellbeing. Agria is therefore so proud to be partnering with World Horse Welfare and supporting the invaluable work they do to for the welfare of our equine friends.”

World Horse Welfare (Registered charity no: 206658 and SC038384), is an international horse charity that improves the lives of horses in the UK and worldwide through care, research, education and influence. Since we were founded in 1927, our whole approach has been practical, based on scientific evidence and our extensive experience, and focused on delivering lasting change for horses in need, sport and leisure horses and work and production horses, improving welfare through supporting the horse-human relationship.
We are the only equine welfare charity to support the responsible involvement of horses in sport and are independent welfare advisers to the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the International Horse Sports Confederation and the British Horseracing Authority (BHA). We promote the concept that horse sport needs to do more to maintain its social licence, i.e. the support of the public, by demonstrably prioritising the welfare of its horses throughout their lives.
