Agria becomes a UK partner with Equiyd
The new Equiyd app enables horse owners to build a ‘digital hoofprint’ for each horse, ensuring comprehensive tracking of care and maintenance, along with sales transactions, with all data remaining linked to the horse’s passport or microchip number for life.
The team behind it has built a platform based on vast cumulative experience gained in healthcare, online retailing and Formula 1. The Equiyd app involves a secure, transparent platform that will revolutionise horse management and the horse buying or sales process. Equiyd enables enhanced traceability, transparency, and ensures security of payments and data.
“Agria, the world’s oldest horse and pet insurer— which introduced game-changing lifetime equine insurance to the UK two years ago — is interested in initiatives that can help improve horses’ care and welfare throughout their lives, so we’re delighted to be supporting Equiyd as a partner,” says Alice Holborow, Equine and Partnerships Manager of Agria UK.
Michelle Lea, Co-Founder of Equiyd said: “We’re delighted to be working with Agria, a company which is clearly as passionate about equine welfare as we are.
“We were attracted to Agria’s unique lifetime equine insurance, which does not add more restrictions to a horse’s cover following claims for new conditions or as he grows older, and which mirrors our focus on the lifelong ownership of a horse’s digital passport. As Equiyd is an app that supports both sellers and buyers through the sales process, the Agria policy that can transfer between owners upon sale of the horse — providing there is no break in cover — is of particular interest.”
Looking to the future, we hope that building transparent and usable data profiles for the horses will support more informed decision-making processes throughout the industry – from those involved in sales, to veterinary professionals and even insurers.”
